Specimen notes
Public Note:
31st Fungal Foray of New Zealand
Public Note:
The spores are substantially dimorphic so this is not H. elegans. Pileipellis appears to be a repent cutis and not a trichoderm. Corner's separation of H. firma into numerous varieties in Malaysia is closer to the truth than lumping all these regionals species under one taxon name. NZ and eastern Au material requires a new name. We will see what sequences say. ... sequences say there are multiple red/orange taxa with dimorphic spores and they can't all be H. firma!
