Specimen notes
Public Note:
31st Fungal Foray of New Zealand
Public Note:
B232. No smell. H. firma was suggested. Regarding section firmae Vizzini et al note that section firmae is 'pantropical and not known from temperate regions'. New Zealand and Tasmania are certainly not tropical! NZ material of H. firma unlikley to be the original from Sri Lanka. In this material gills descending, pileus flat, dry (and stipe). Group A. However, the spores in this material are without macro and microspores although some are elongate constricted and other ovoid pip-shaped.. The elongate spores are 9 x 4. Horaks's key suggests cerinolutea but the spores are incorrect (and more like rubrocarnosa). Does not key. Young to Pseudohygrocybe. Pileipellis is a clamped trichoderm. Without cystidia. Doesn't key in Young. Same as 9350
