no smell, KOH-ve, AA-ve. Cheilocystidia pyriform. Spores length=4.6-5.5µm (µ=5.1, σ=0.23), width=2.6-3.2µm (µ=2.9, σ=0.20), Q=1.5-2.0µm (µ=1.77, σ=0.14), n=20. The best candidate for this species I have seen, except for small spore size which is closer to A. purpureoniger (and perhaps supports synonymy of the two).
