Specimen notes
Public Note:
taste mealy. cap a clamped cutis of irregular hyphae. spores inamyloid. 4-spored. Cheilo filiform agglutinate but also with smaller irregular cylindrical cheilos. Not a Rhodocollybia. Sequence falls within luxurians complex and not pororari. Near a Queensland Gymnopus and G. trogioides but this does not have fusiform spores and doesn't look Trogia-like. Stem pruinose when dry. Gill edge sterile, a disrupted band of hyphae with filamentous cystidia, sometime branched, to 40um long x 2-3um thick. Stipe tomentum of irregular branched clamped hyphae (mycelial). Pileipellis woven, clamped, broad. Mature basidia or spores very few. 4-spored, possibly some 2-spored. Spores 6-9 x 4-5um. This looks like some images of Collybia eucalyptorum but the micro details do not entirely agree with Grgurinovich's description of the type with no mention of filiform cystidia. Pileipellis more levipedes than vestipedes and yet in the vestipedes group (in ITS at least)? I think this is near enough to the Australian Colybia euclayptorum to use that name, although the type and other collections need examining for the presence/constancy of filiform cystidia.
