Specimen notes
Public Note:
Tiny, translucent yellow apothecium forming individually within circular depression about 0.2 mm diam. in fallen leaf, several depressions within a bleached area of the leaf surrounded by dark zone line, the basal part of the depression lined with dark tissue of globose, thick-walled cells. Apothecium exposed following the circular piece of covering host tissue folding back as a flap and falling off. Excipulum perhaps 1-2 layers of cells, cells broad, brick-shaped, thin-walled, hayline. Paraphyses swollen at apex, asci with thickened apex with tiny apical pore, either amyloid or simply refractive, at inside edge of wall; ascospores oblong-elliptic, flat one side, sometimes slightly curved, 0(?-1) septate, about 11-12 x 2.5 um.
