Specimen notes
Public Note:
completely superficial fruiting bodies, does not appear to invade the host tissue at all, and forms no hyphae on the leaf surface surrounding the fruiting body. It has distinctive 2-spored asci and large, brown-walled, 4-septate ascospores. Perhaps a member of the Schizothyriaceae. Same fungus occurs on some leaves in PDD 68298, 72086, and 34563
