Public Note:
This collection is a duplicate of PDD110501 according to the details. The packet contains a photo, the electronic version of which, on Pat's files, is labelled PL186514.jpg which is linked to PDD 111488 but does appear to refer to one of the frbs in this packet. The packet also contains smaller fruitbody of a different species, which appears to be the same as that in the packet for PDD1105012. The ITS of that says this is 'Lincoln' in section arvense and not related to depauperatus in section agaricus. [PL] Cap: convex squamulose, very dark brown, margin breaking into squamose strands (fibrillose). Lamellae free, crowded, pink then greyish pink then purple black. Stipe robust, bulbous or not, with descending ring, edge free, grey striate above with white cartwheel markings below. Flesh very slowly red-brown. Spores no germ pore 8 x 6. [JAC] note that this description refers to the larger fruitbody in the packet - probably not that of PDD110501. DNA sample taken from this frb. Micro details not taken until the substantial confusion between packets/pictures and collectuion/PDD numbers is clarified.
