Tissue exuding oil/resin drops into KOH. Clamped. Spores smooth with germ pore, thick-walled. With sterile gill edge but without cheilocystidia (very occasional hairs). Has short white tomentose stipe. 4-spored. length=5.6-6.9µm (µ=6.3, σ=0.4), width=3.8-4.6µm (µ=4.3, σ=0.2), Q=1.3-1.6µm (µ=1.4, σ=0.1), n=20.None of Horak's taxa. Would be interesting to see how this relates to P. densa.
