P.R. Johnston
Public Note:
Drying brown. Spores regular outline in one view, and irregular in others (not confirmed in later specimens). With thick-walled cheilocystidia (but not Hohenbuehelia-like sensu Singer Nova Hed). Hymenium with embedded crystals, Spores length=9.9-11.1µm (µ=10.5, σ=0.5), width=6.1-7.4µm (µ=6.7, σ=0.5), Q=1.4-1.8µm (µ=1.6, σ=0.2), n=6. Spores a bit small for this. C. alba does not dry orange and does not have metuloid cystidia, otherwise close. See aff. alba also reported from Hawaii by Desjardin. As either alba or aequitorialis is would be in Tetrapyrgos.
