Biota note (2002).
TYPE DEPOSITION. The male holotype has apparently been held by NZAC in the late 1960s (A.C. Eyles, pers. comm.). It appears to have been lent to the United States National Museum (Washington, DC) where it may have been lost or it has been returned and got.
General note (2019).
Larivière & Larochelle (2004: Fauna of New Zealand 50: 61) also reported the above and the possibility, based on a personal communication by IM Kerzhner, that the holotype might be in the Natural History Museum, London (formerly BMNH). However, this is not the case.
In a note, they also stated that one brachypterous male labelled "Sedges. Gollan's V. 5-2-21" (NZAC), agreed with the collecting data from the original description. The specimen (NZAC04129380) was examined by Froeschner (1996: Smithsonian Contrib. Zool. 574) who suggested that it could be available for neotype designation if needed.
A female specimen (NZAC04129328) from the same series has since been found in NZAC and is probably the best candidate for neotype designation if need (pers. comm. M-C Larivière, 26 Feb 2019).
The male (NZAC04129380) and female specimens (NZAC04129328) have been transferred to the Hemiptera type cabinet (NZAC) for safe keeping.
