Notes:
Small tree about 2.5 m high with stout soft trunk containing whitish latex. Leaves puckered and undulate, dark shining green above, ± glaucescent beneath; veins and midrib pink on either side. Flowers cauliflorus at top of trunk. Female flowers slightly fragrant; perianth c. 3 cm long; segments thick in lower three-quarters, light green, forming an ovoid structure around ovary; "lobes" (terminal quarter) 9-10 mm long, yellow or orange-yellow inside, ± oblong with rounded apex, strongly recurved. Fruits 7-9 x c. 5 cm, ± broad ellipsoid-ovoid, becoming yellow.
