Supplementary remarks:
Bowlesia tropaeolifolia is known from 2 early gatherings only, and does not ever seem to have been established in N.Z. Bowlesia was first recorded from ballast in Wellington as B. tenera [Kirk, T., Trans. Proc. N.Z. Inst. 28: 504 (1896)] but was referable to B. tropaeolifolia. The other collection is from Palmerston North.
