Supplementary remarks:
Cultivated at Otari Native Plant Museum since 1950 or longer. This clone used for drawing in "Genus Wahlenbergia in N.Z., p.15" Duplicates of these specimens planted. Seed from capsules of the same sown in same pot & many seedlings grew. Several individuals used for Chromosome counts. Of 7 shoot tips used (from unknown number of induviduals) - One gave a definite of 2n = 90 four gave definite counts of 2n = 36 two gave probable counts of 2n = 36 Hybridism suspected in the decaploid (90). Plants still in cultivation

Originally from Cape Foulwind, coll. & Cult. by W.B. Brockie at Otari Native Plant Museum. Later propogated by J.A. Petterson & cult. at Palmerston Nth along with seed from same plant. Of 7 shoot tips used for Chromosome counts (from unknown number of individuals in the same pot) one was 2n = 90, the rest 2n = 36.
