Supplementary remarks:
Extract from letter from Mus. Nat. d'Hist. Paris 28.12.1954 to L.B.M. [L.B. Moore] "Vos échantillons me semblent , en tous points identiques à celui de Labillarière dont l'entiquette est ainsi libellèe: The King, N. Holl., Spergula apetala (de la main de Labillardière?). Donc, "the soft New Zealand plants" pour repredres les termes de votre lettre sont, à mon avis, l'espèce de Labillarière. "N. Dumez-le-Grand. (Some stiff Tasmanian plts [plants] were sent for comparison L.B.M. 15.1.[19]55) [Your samples seem to me to be in all respects identical to that of Labillarière whose label is worded as follows: The King, N. Holl., Spergula apetala (by Labillardière?). So, "the soft New Zealand plants" to repeat the terms of your letter are, in my opinion, the type of Labillarière. "N. Dumez-le-Grand.]
