Notes:
Herb with long pale green rhizomes, just below the surface. leaves with lamina dark green above and pale green below. Pedicels purple. Perianth 8-9 cm long, including the long, thread-like appendages to c. 6.5 cm long, dark maroon-purple, especially inside, except for a pair of large whitish broad elliptic patches on each of the 3 segments; basal part of perianth (i.e. below the spreading appendages) c. 1 cm across and remaining campanulate. Plant forming a large broad patch by the copious spreading rhizomes and now growing around and below shrubs in the area.
