Habitat:
On papa bank; steep. Lots of juvenile regeneration. Associated with some manuka. Growing along river course on valley bottom. Abundant regeneration on bank above road. Mahoe associated with it.
Notes:
Quite tall, up to 18 m probably. Shae with feathery tops on spreading branches; multistemmed; bark tight, hard stringy bark, flakes 0.5 – 2 cm wide, salmon pink underneath; corky, quite spongy.
