Dense spreading tussocks; leaf-sheaths orange-brown; leaves pale green or pale orange-green and plano-convex in T.S.; curly leaf and bract tips; culm is completely smooth, obscurely trigonous; spikes are a pale orange-brown. Quite a few plants scattered along the marsh at the bottom edge of the stop bank.
