Leaves only, no flowers or fruits; trichomes (long eglandular mixed with short glandular) on adaxial side of the leaf, plus short glandular on abaxial side, fits O. sessilifolia, as does location (Takitimu Mountains). My best ID without flowers is O. sessilifolia subsp. sessilifolia; However plants of O. sessilifolia normally have tighter rosettes, and without fertile material, the hybrid O. x prorepens (O. sessilifolia x O. caespitosa), cannot be entirely ruled out. Both O. sessilifolia and O. caespitosa are known from the Takitimu Mountains, but I have not yet seen a specimen of the hybrid from the Takitimu Mountains. It would be good to get flowering/fruiting material of this next time.
