Notes:
Habit prostrate, braching from a central point, erect at tips. Culms and leaves reddish, internodes becoming longer distally. Basal sheaths hairy, distal sheaths less hairy. Long hairs to 7 mm at junction with leaf blade. Blade with very few sparse , short hairs, almost glabrous. Blade 65 - 85 x 7-8 mm . Linear to narrow lanceolate to a tapered tip. Margins very finely serrate. One edge of leaf finely waved or crumped, the other smooth. Ligule membranous, erect c. 1.5 mm to 2 mm high. Upper edge serrate, purplish. Culms to 25 cm above last node. Racemes 6 -7 culm, often opposite paired. 11 - 15 cm long. Racahis 3 - winged, all wings scabrous serrate. Pedicels to c. 3 mm long with 3 scrabrous lines. Lower (1st) glume, deltoid small c. 0.5 mm. Upper (2nd) glume. Lanceolate c. 1/2 length of spikelet 3 -5 nerved, hairy. c. 2 mm long. Spikelets 3.5 - 4 mm long. Lower lemma 3 - 5 nerved, margin hairy. Mature spikelets develop prominent hairy edge.
