Notes:
Leaves 10 - 15 cm x 7 - 8 mm. Linear tapered in distal half to a long acute tip. Margins finely serrate. Ligule of fine, rigid close packed hairs c. 1 mm long. Sheath 6 - 8 cm. Long keeled leaflets, a spike with zigzag rachis. Spikelets shortly pedicellate c. 1 mm long, hairy. Involucre of numerous sharp spikes. 2? flowers per skile possibly more opening sequentially. Spikelet forming a hard cluster with numerous spines clinging to animals and clothing.
