In short growth between taro plots sprawling amongst grass over considerable areas.
Notes:
Leaves 4 x 1 cm shortly petiolate opposite, oblanceolate. Flowers in glomerules of scarious bracts in axils, elongate into a short spike as spent. Seed round disk with slightly thickered margin, notched at tip. Borne singly in centre of 5 scarious (bracts) tepals? laceolate, acuminate.
