Growing in shallow soils around outcropping basalt bedrock with other mainly-exotic early spring annuals: Riccia sp., Sagina procumbens, Euchiton sp., Rumex acetosella, Anthoxanthum odoratum, Crassula sieberiana, Cotula australis, Montia perfoliata subsp. chrondrosperma, Cardamine hirsuta, Silene gallica. Wineberry and Coprosma rhamnoides fenced out of paddock.
