Notes:
Short caespitose tufts, very shortly rhizomatous. Sheath dull brown. Leaves erect and slightly incurved, pale green and shiny, firm but not rigid, tips not cirrhose, plano-convex below to more or less flat or very shallowly trigonous.These are last seasons spikes, straw coloured or pale brown and the utricles faded. Culms terete, smooth. Glumes = utricles. Styles 3. Common locally at various sites around these tarns.
