I think this is correct. Differs from Carex hostiana DC. in that the glumes are mucronate, not acute, and the spikelets are cylindrical in shape, not oblong-ovate. Two distinct submarginal ribs are visible on the perigynia in situ, which excludes C. distans L., in which the perigynia are equally ribbed all round.
