Leaf-sheaths shiny dark red becoming orange above, finely veined; ligule membranous, 0.5 mm, apex rounded and finely fimbricate; leaves orange/red, plano-concavo-convex or plano-convex, leaf-tips blunt acute, cirrhose; utricles rose or pink-reddish above, faintly veined; glumes same colour above, apices acute, all awned. Remnant population. Grown on at Landcare Research.
