Habitat:
Growing on silty sand at about the upper limits of high tides. The mostly dense belt of reeds extends to about 5 m from the river to the edge of grazed pasture and is separated from grazing by an electric fence.
Notes:
One piece here is a stolon with 4 or 5 shoots that was extending furthest down the beach of any material I saw. The tallest culms seen at this spot were about 3-4 m tall. The reeds reportedly extend along about 3 km of river bank, up-river from our collection site.
