Notes:
Rhizomatous, slightly glaucous; spikes 2-3 female, utricles c. 2.6 x c. 1 mm, terete, ovoid, hard corky, light brown, darker above; the rachilla < nut, tapers to a reddish appendage and is flat 1-veined and scabrid on the margins above halfway; nut broad obovate, trigonous. Short beak (but is scabrid!), no stipe, truncate beak orifice, and short trigonous nut suggest C. enysii.
