Notes:
This is abundant in waste places, gardens & fields everywhere. It is a short-lived annual with a tap root, a flat rosetta of jagged edged leaves, a flowering stem 6 inches to a foot high, and a crowded tuft of long white flowers at the end of each stalk. As the flowers fade their place is taken by the fruits each of which are more scattered on the stem, and each of which is heart-shaped, with the notch turned outwards. Hung up by its stalk the fruit is not unlike a shepards wallet.
