Notes:
Rhizomes thick, not collected. Leaves with long petiole; lamina pale green and waxy, to c. 40 cm across, ± horizontally positioned, held high above the mud. Pedicels erect, to 1 m high, scabrid. Outermost sepals c. 1.5 x 1.8 cm pale greenish-pink. Inner sepals 10-12 x 5-6 cm, very broadly elliptic-obovate, pink. Corolla 13 to 15 cm long, broad elliptic-obovate, bright pink. Stamens 3-3.5 cm long. Ovary apex 3.5 cm across, orbicular, flat except for raised papillae-like stigmas. Locally common.
