Scrambling and climbing. Stems frequently rooting when they come into contact with soil surface. Covered in flowers but coming to end of season so mid to late May may be peak period. Subtle fragrance with hint of spice.

Habitat:
Weedy bank above road. Mix of regenerating native species (e.g., mahoe, akeake, kawakawa, hinau) and exotic weed species (e.g., blackberry, Plectranthus, Delairea odorata, Tradescantia).
Notes:
Covering large area (20m x 5m plus) on road reserve bank and private property. Producing dense thickets when on ground but also scrambling into canopy (5m+) of Dodonea viscosa and Melicythus ramiflorus etc. No seedlings or other plants seen in the surrounding area, so this may all be an extension of a single plant. Outcompeting blackberry when on the ground.
