Cultivated in dry, very sheltered and shady site.
Notes:
Plant with thick erect stem c. 23 cm high and c. 1 cm diameter. Leaves dark green and ± shining above except for irregular pale grey bands along some of the veins, uniformly dull green beneath. Fruits often small, pale orange and infertile. Fertile fruits to 1.5 x 1.2 cm, broad ellipsoid and rounded at ends, becoming deep orange and glossy, succulent.
