Habitat:
Depleted tussock grassland: Chionochloa rigida, Aciphylla aurea, Hieracium pilosella, Kelleria dieffenbachii, Leucopogon fraseri, Coprosma sp., Acrothamnus colensoi, Pimelea sp., Lycopodium.
Habitat modification: Fire, grazing, and invasive species especially Hieracium. Land use: Recreational. Landform: NE facing colluvial slope. Geology: Schist. Silt soil. Steep elongate shapesite minor spur above access track.
Notes:
Low growing loose mat 1-2cm high, mats 5 to 50cm across, average 20cm. Leaves 2x1mm pale green imbricate rosettes around main stem. White furry lower leaf surface and furry leaf tips. Papery white scales around flowers. Flower heads 5mm across.
