Dracophyllum acersoum has an outlier population at Ben More. These leaves do not have a scabrid zone at the top of the sheath, they are glabrous and smooth. No other Marlborough species is of this size and with glabrous leaves.
Not D. uniflorum / D. rosmarinifolium which also has a scabrid zone at tip of leaf sheath. D. kirkii does not extend this far east, nor D. palustre.
