Leaf tips subpungent (cf. Celmisia lyallii - tips pungent), lower lamina except midrib covered with tomentum (cf. C. lyallii - tomentum in grooves - appears stripy), upper lamina with obscure midrib but evident ribs parallel to the midrib, lacking thick yellow band around midrib
(cf. C. armstrongii).
