Small for this species; could be a hybrid with Celmisia vespertina. Photographs from field of putative hybrid and parental species are helpful to illustrate hybridisation.

Habitat:
Sub-alpine scrub/tussock field. There are a variety of Dracophyllum and Coprosma and Chionochloa species with an understory of herbs (predominantly Celmisia), grasses, sedges and smaller woody species.

DOC Tier 1 and MfE LUCAS Programme Plot: AX126; Sample Number: 20131580. Probably not CELves (it actually looks like CELsem now that it has been pressed); but didn't look quite like either of the other big CEL species on plot (CELspe & CELsem). The leaves; Possible hybrid.
