Note:
Accessioned to PN collection as Salix Americana. Checklist of cultivars of Salix (2014, p. 45) presents views on what the name Salix 'Americana' represents: S. eriocephala x petiolaris according to Krussman (1984) and Bean (1980), S. eriocephala x purpurea according to Rehder. Said to be widely distributed as a basket willow. Checklist of cultivars describes this as "A low-growing shrub with long, bright red, pendulous branches. Leaves have large, kidney-shaped stipules". Plants are all male. PN376 is male, but has ovate stipules and branches are green. Possibly a hybrid, not S. eriocephala itself.
