Notes:
Tree 15-17 m high, widespreading. Leaves from neighbouring young spontaneous tree, thin, brown when young. Flowers from ground. Calyx curving upwards, 6-6.5 cm long, pale brown felty tomentum. Corolla c. 14 cm long x 12 cm deep (i.e. to bottom), orange-red with yellow marginal line; lobes usually 4.5-6 x 4-5 cm, very crimped and undulate, forming an irregular limb; tube ± ventricose above proximal 2 cm, then expanding abruptly, deep crimson streaks inside, curving upwards. Stamens 4.5-6 cm long, orange and red spotted. Style c. 7.5 cm long, pale orange; stamens and style dorsal in corolla. Cultivation relic probably.
