Small bush about 1 m tall. Leaves opposite, dark green, coriaceous and shining, with distinct midrib - pinkish. Stem whitish and slightly woody. Leaves have been eaten by insects. Numerous bushes along road, through swamp. Native name: Kaika pitata.
