Growing at the base of Cocos trees. Dry sandy soil. Semi-shaded. Vegetation: scattered stunted Chamaescye, Davallia, Timonius and Catharanthus.
Notes:
Slim pendulous branches lacking foliage. Bracts very small, green and clustered around base of axils. Flowers bright red, trumpet shaped, 2 x 0.3 cm. Children eat the nectar from the flowers.
