Deep shade, beneath weeds - False elephant's foot [Elephantopus spicatus], Commelina, small Mangifera.
Notes:
Large tree 12 m tall, with 6 m canopy. DBH = 1 m. Buttressed and twisted trunk. Leaves opposite, dark green with wavy margins, oblong, with clear mid and lateral veins. Young leaves pale green. Seeds bright orange, flat kidney shape, 8 x 5 x 1 cm. Common inland tree. Native name: I'i.
