Notes:
Leaves with long fine cirrhose apices, dun or pinkish red, concavo-convex (but plano-convex above), septatae obvious in sheaths and leaf-blades near the base. Spikes very dark with pale glumes; utricles dark brown; Styles 3. Forming dense red clumps. Also found on the flats by creeks and tarns on the moraine terraces.
