Only male gametoecia present. Apparently dioicous and any Pleuridium shoudl be monoicous; Stereids present in costae; Perigonia paryphysis numerous, filiform.
Mid lamina tubular, not reflexed at margins.
Plants with a dull lustre suggestive of Ceratodon, but it is not that.
