Notes:
Cultivated tree, to c. 10 metres, multi-stemmed from broad base between 1 and 2 m across. Rough bark at base corky, mid-brown, transforming to grey-brown thin box-like pattern up to branches c.10 cm diameter, then smooth. Epicormic shoots for just a few nodes bear juvenile leaves, the lower of these being broad ovate to orbicular, cordate, apex pointed, leathery and large, e.g. 11 cm x 9 cm.
