Habitat:
Undisturbed Makatea forest - very dense. Pinnacles and rocky ground. Very damp and shady. Growing with the other species of Asplenium australasicum. Vegetation: Pisonia, Pandanus, Peperomia, Ixora bracteata.
Notes:
Fronds > 1 m tall. Indusium arranged at right angles to midrib. Midrib less prominent on underside of frond. Dense base - 2 ft in diameter. Native name: Kotaa.
