Habitat:
Ungrazed pasture land reverting to native vegetation, mostly manuka but also Olearia virgata and Raukaua anomola. Strongly rolling to steep slopes of foothills.
Notes:
The specimen was growing amongst a large patch of manuaka with typical petal shapes and the flowers were the only noticeable difference. About a dozen individuals with the atypical flowers have been noted. The specimen exhibits mainly atypical petal shapes although occasionally a flower with typical rounded petals is seen lower on the branch. Flowers with pink stamens.
