Habitat:
Kettle-hole on moraine, growing in soft mud recently exposed, just above the waterline of tarn with permanent water. Also plants further along the shore growing in sand amongst rocks above the waterline. Many plants in the population but restricted in area and only at the east end of the main Spider tarn.

Plants slightly red-green, flowering, stigmata scarlet.
