Habitat:
Growing in shrubland, especially at margin adjoining open boulder field. On a gently sloping slope at the toe of the northwest facing scarp slope.
Notes:
The only location that I observed this species on Balmoral Station is in a shrubland community with Rosa rubiginosa, Coprosma propinqua, Discaria toumatou, Corokia cotoneaster, Carmichaelia petriei, Melicytus alpinus agg., Parsonsia capsularis and Olearia odorata.Adjacent to the site is a grassland community with the following species present: Agrostis capillaris, Anthoxanthum odoratum, Elymus solandri and Festuca novae-zelandiae and Rytidosperma merum. Other species present there are: Pilosella officinarum, Pilosella piloselloides ssp. praealta, Trifolium repens, Trifolium arvense, Hypericum perforatum and Muehlenbeckia complexa.See also CHR 624948.
