Note:
C. fr.; I suspect that Macromitrium submucronifolium and M. prorepens are not worth separating, and if they are fused then M. prorepens (Hook.) Schwaegr. appears to the earliest and preferred name. Plants bright yellow-green when fresh, yellow-brown in lower portions. Veg. leaves most 2-2.5 mm, not arranged in obvious spirals; costae mostly short excurrent in a small mucro. Laminal cells strongly mamillate (but not obvious under stereo), the tips of the mamillae mostly branched (with two apical papillae viewed in cross-section). Perichaetial leaves not elongate. Peristome highly reduced and white (seen under stereo when dry), exostomal, teeth c. 150 μm long. Setae 5 mm, twisted to right. Capsules tapered to a trigonous and narrow mouth (when dry); spores not seen.
