Habitat:
In a shallow gully near the forest edge along Bridge Street.
Notes:
Low-canopied forest of Schefflera digitata, Melicytus ramiflorus, Muehlenbeckia australis, with emergent Prumnopitys taxifolia nearby. Important understorey species are Streblus heterophyllus, Schefflera digitata, Melicytus ramiflorus, Coprosma areolata, Metrosideros diffusa and Muehlenbeckia australis. Other ferns present are Lastreopsis glabella and Asplenium gracillimum. Pellaea rotundifolia is present nearby. The Blechnum membranaceum population comprises approximately 12 plants/clumps within an area of 5 square metres on the banks of a shallow (ephemeral) stream.
Also discovered at two other locations in Talbot Forest.
1459065E-5117060N. In a gully near the forest edge, adjacent to the (unformed) end of Forest Road. Similar forest habitat to the collection site, though with the addition of Fuchsia excorticata in the canopy. Four plants/clumps within an area of 1 square metre.
1458800E-5116800N. On the banks of a small stream at the southern edge of the reserve near Hislop Street. Forest similar to the collection site. Three (maybe more) plants/clumps near stream edge.
