Habitat:
Roadside on edge of water channel near channel overpass in grass.
Notes:
Herb, opposite green leaves and smooth green stems. Grows very prostrate and compact in mown areas but erect to c. 80 cm and more open in untended areas. Flowers papery like Gomphrena spp. in tight heads in leaf axils, cream-white colour. Plants frequently root at nodes. Widespread in park lawns, water channel banks, vacant lots, grassed footpaths.Cultivated in glasshouse, CSIRO Long Pocket Laboratories, Indooroopilly, QLD.
